ISTANBUL. – Turkey’s national minorities, including Armenians, attended a conference devoted to the preservation of their cultures. 

The participants called upon Turkey’s authorities to grant Turkish and dual citizenships to the heirs of non-Muslims who had left Turkey after World War I, Haber3 News Agency of Turkey informs.      

They also focused on the fact that the massacres and deportations of Turkey’s national minorities, in 1915 and thereafter, have caused historic traumas. And it was noted that the state’s confrontation with these historical massacres and its apology can become a basis for compensating for those damages.
