China is extremely concerned about the military strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and Israel, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

“Iran’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity must be respected. China calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the prevention of further escalation of the tense situation, the resumption of dialogue and negotiations, and efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East,” the statement said.
