The Israeli Air Force said it carried out the largest strike in its history on Iran today, deploying around 200 fighter jets, local media report.
According to the military, the massive strikes targeted Iranian ballistic missile launchers and air defense systems.
The Israel Defense Forces said that during the morning sortie, fighter jets dropped hundreds of munitions almost simultaneously on approximately 500 Iranian military targets in western and central Iran.
“This is the largest strike sortie in the history of the Israeli Air Force, carried out after careful planning using high-quality intelligence and the simultaneous synchronization of hundreds of aircraft,” the military said in a statement.
The Israeli army added that strikes on Iranian air defense systems “allowed the expansion of air superiority over Iran and dealt a significant blow to the regime’s central offensive capability — launch sites in western Iran.”
