US and Israeli strikes on Iran constitute “illegal aggression” and a violation of national sovereignty, a spokesperson for North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said, as quoted by the state news agency KCNA.

The US military operation against Iran was “within expectations,” the spokesperson noted, calling it an inevitable result of the United States’ “hegemonic and gangster-like” nature.

The “aggressive war” of the United States and Israel is unacceptable under any circumstances, the statement said.

It also added that countries in the region and other states with shared interests should assume responsibility for restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.
