The military command structure established and approved under the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is currently actively and promptly carrying out previously issued directives, said Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to the late Khamenei, Mehr reports.

“Iran’s armed forces are at the highest level of operational readiness to respond,” Mokhber said.

Earlier, it was reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader was killed in US and Israeli strikes on Tehran.

Iran also confirmed the deaths of IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Defense Council Ali Shamkhani, Major General Seyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Minister Amir Nasirzadeh.

Israel, meanwhile, claims it killed 40 senior Iranian commanders.
