Israeli Army spokesman Brigadier General Efi Defrin stated that "all options remain on the table" when asked whether Israel plans to expand strikes on Lebanon into a ground offensive.
"We are operating in Lebanon to eliminate a serious threat… Ultimately, all options remain on the table. We will act to disarm Hezbollah," Defrin said during a televised briefing.
Earlier the same day, international army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said there was currently "no reason" to launch a ground invasion of Lebanon "in the near future" following an overnight attack by Hezbollah, to which Israel responded with airstrikes.
