The number of US servicemembers killed in the operation against Iran, according to the latest data, has increased to six, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in the Middle East reported.
"As of 4 pm ET, March 2, six U.S. service members have been killed in action. U.S. forces recently recovered the remains of two previously unaccounted for service members from a facility that was struck during Iran's initial attacks in the region. Major combat operations continue," the respective statement said, in part.
Earlier, CENTCOM reported four US servicemembers killed. According to CNN sources, they were killed in the same attack in Kuwait.
CENTCOM had previously reported also that 18 US servicemembers were seriously injured.
