The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an "urgent warning" for Iranians in Tehran's industrial zone and Karaj airport ahead of planned airstrikes, Times of Israel reports.

"Urgent warning for all persons located in the Hakimiyeh industrial zone in Tehran and Payam airport in Karaj. In the coming hours, the Israel Defense Forces will operate in this area, as in recent days throughout Tehran, to strike the military infrastructure of the Iranian regime," said IDF spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Kamal Penhasi in a statement in Farsi.

"For your safety and wellbeing, we ask you to immediately evacuate the marked area in accordance with the map," he added.

The US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Strikes hit the Iranian capital Tehran and the country's largest cities. Immediately after the strikes, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation. Iran reportedly launched missiles and drones at Israel and US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were also killed in the Israeli-American strikes.

On March 2, Hezbollah joined the war against Israel. Israel announced the launch of an offensive operation against the movement.
