At least 60,000 people have fled southern Lebanon due to military escalation. Lebanon's Minister of Social Affairs, Haneen Sayed‏, announced this at a press conference in capital Beirut, TASS reports.

According to her, residents are being evacuated from the Bekaa Valley and the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital, which are frequently subjected to airstrikes.

“We are fully aware of the responsibility placed on us,” she said. “We are taking all necessary measures to alleviate the suffering of people who have fled their homes and meet their basic needs.”

Sayed said that the Lebanese authorities have opened more than 170 reception centers, where 29,000 refugees are currently housed. She admitted, however, that a large number of people remain homeless.

"The current phase requires collective solidarity and commitment to overcome the consequences of military escalation," stressed the Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs.

The US and Israel have been carrying out attacks on Iran since February 28, which has led to destruction and casualties.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei was also killed in the attacks.

In response, Iran has launched missile strikes on Israel and US military bases in the region.

On Monday, the Hezbollah movement also entered the war against Israel, and the latter announced the launch of an offensive operation against the movement and entered southern Lebanon.
