The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they struck an underground nuclear facility in Iran where scientists were "secretly" developing a key component for nuclear weapons, reports The Times of Israel.

Military intelligence continued to monitor the scientists' activities and determined their new location within the facility, which enabled a precise strike on the hidden underground complex, the IDF statement said, and showed a map of the aforesaid facility on the western outskirts of Tehran.

A group of nuclear scientists were secretly developing a key component for nuclear weapons at this facility, the IDF added in its statement.

These scientists were reportedly working in the underground storage facility when Israel and the US struck several Iranian nuclear facilities during the previous war last June.
