Spain has denied reports of military cooperation with the US in the war against Iran, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said Wednesday.

“I categorically deny this. The position of the Spanish government on the war in the Middle East, the bombing of Iran, and the use of our bases has not changed at all,” the top Spanish diplomat stated.

Albares added that he did not know where the information came from that Spain had allegedly agreed to such cooperation. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt had announced earlier on Wednesday that Spain will cooperate with the US armed forces in their war against Iran.

She had stated that the Spanish authorities had made this decision after a message from US President Donald Trump.
