More than 20 people were killed and another 50 wounded in a double missile strike by the US and Israel on the city of Najafabad in central Iran, Fars reports.

According to the outlet, citing a police source, rescuers and ordinary residents rushed to help the wounded after the missile strike on the city, when a second missile hit the same location minutes later.

For context: the US and Israel have been attacking Iranian territory since February 28, causing destruction and casualties. In response, Iran has been launching missile strikes against Israel and US military bases in the region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were killed in the US-Israeli strikes. On March 2, Hezbollah joined the war against Israel, with Israel announcing the launch of an offensive operation against the movement.
