A senior UAE official on Sunday denied in an interview with The Jerusalem Post that the country was involved in a strike on a water desalination facility in Iran.

Earlier, Ynet reported that the UAE struck an Iranian water desalination facility on Sunday in what would have been its first retaliatory strike following Iranian drone and missile attacks as part of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran.

The US and Israel have been attacking Iranian territory since February 28, causing destruction and casualties. In response, Iran has been launching missile strikes against Israel and US military bases in the region. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were killed in the US-Israeli strikes. On March 2, Hezbollah joined the war against Israel, with Israel announcing the launch of an offensive operation against the movement.
