The United States has no plans to strike Iran's oil industry or other energy infrastructure, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in an interview with CNN.

According to Wright, it is Israel that is striking Iranian oil facilities. "There are no plans to strike Iran's oil industry, gas industry or anything related to their energy industry. Those are Israeli strikes. Those are local fuel depots for filling gas tanks in that area of Tehran. The US is targeting zero energy infrastructure," the American minister said.

Wright acknowledged that Israeli strikes on Iranian oil storage facilities "have affected air quality," but added that in his view, "a few days of low air quality in Tehran is nothing compared to what the Iranian people have suffered under the regime."

Following US and Israeli strikes on oil storage facilities in Iran, "black rain" fell over Tehran. Iranian media report a sharp deterioration in air quality and are publishing disturbing footage of the aftermath.
