French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had spoken with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev.

"As part of the consultations I have conducted with regional leaders, I spoke with President Ilham Aliyev and expressed our support and solidarity in connection with the Iranian strikes on his country.

I also thanked him for the assistance provided by Azerbaijan in facilitating the evacuation of our citizens.

Taking this opportunity, I once again emphasized our support for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and our desire to continue our bilateral dialogue with Baku on an even stronger foundation," Macron wrote on X.
