A US air defense system has reportedly mistakenly hit residential buildings in Bahrain's capital Manama. The incident occurred while repelling a drone attack, the Iraqi Rudaw television reports.
Also, the television published a social media video which shows a Patriot missile suddenly falling on residential buildings after being launched.
The Patriot missile is believed to have accidentally hit a house, causing several injuries, Rudaw adds.
According to the Bahraini ministry of health, 32 people were injured in the strike on Monday night, four of whom are in critical condition.
The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in Manama is armed with Patriot air defense systems, each interceptor missile of which costs $4 million.
