Lebanese President Joseph Aoun declared his readiness to enter into negotiations with Israel to halt attacks on the country's territory, which have killed more than 400 people since March 2.

"We confirm Lebanon's readiness to resume negotiations [with Israel] and discuss the necessary security measures to stop this dangerous escalation," the head of state said, according to the presidential press service.

He condemned "those who seek to drag Lebanon into a regional conflict, ignoring the will of the majority of its citizens who are tired of wars and their consequences."
