The Kremlin spokesman noted that "as a consequence for the world economy, this is well known to everyone, both Trump and Putin." "Of course, the actions taken by the United States — meaning the oil restrictions — are connected with attempts to stabilize the situation on global energy markets against the backdrop of the situation in the Persian Gulf," Peskov added.

Earlier, Trump said Washington would lift some of its sanctions against the oil industries of other countries and possibly not reimpose them, saying this was being done to lower prices.
