Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani responded to US President Donald Trump's threat regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

"The Iranian people, who love Ashura, are not afraid of your empty threats, for those who are stronger than you could not eliminate them… So be careful not to be the ones who disappear," Larijani wrote on X.

Earlier, Trump wrote on Truth Social that if Iran "does anything that stops the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States of America will hit them twenty times harder than the strikes that have been hit so far."

"In addition, we will destroy easily destroyable targets, making it virtually impossible for Iran to ever rebuild as a nation. Death, fire and fury will be rained down upon them. But I hope and pray that this does not happen. This is a gift from the United States of America to China and all those countries that use the Strait of Hormuz so heavily. I hope this gesture will be appreciated," Trump wrote.
