Qatar has warned that attacks on energy infrastructure in the region amid the Middle East war will have economic consequences for the entire world.

"Attacks on energy facilities that have already occurred — from both sides — set a dangerous precedent… this will have consequences worldwide," Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said.

According to him, Iran has intensified attacks on Qatar's infrastructure. "Strikes on civilian infrastructure continue… and we reject any Iranian justifications for these attacks," al-Ansari emphasized.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that the Iranian president's statement of apology was not backed by real action after cities in Bahrain and the UAE came under Iranian missile strikes.

Qatar's Defense Ministry separately reported intercepting a missile targeting the country on Tuesday. Al-Ansari stressed that Iran must stop attacks before any negotiations can begin, while contacts with all sides continue with the aim of ending the conflict.

"The best solution is to stop attacks on our energy facilities," al-Ansari said when asked whether escorting vessels through the Strait of Hormuz could be a possible option.

He also said that since the start of the war, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has held only one phone call with Iran's foreign minister, though communication channels with Tehran have not been fully severed.

"Any attack on Qatar will be met accordingly," al-Ansari stated. "Countering Iranian aggression has become a priority given its impact on Qatar's economy and the global economy."
