The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that an Israeli tank opened fire on a building after soldiers spotted fighters entering the structure.

The IDF announced a second early-morning raid on Monday targeting Hezbollah fighters and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. "This operation is part of efforts to strengthen forward defensive positions to provide additional protection for residents of northern Israel," the IDF statement said.

On Monday, CNN reported that Israel is considering a deeper operation in southern Lebanon and an expansion of its military presence there.

Since November 2024, following the ceasefire agreement, Israel has held five positions in southern Lebanon. Last week the IDF reported seizing several additional positions in response to Hezbollah's launch of projectiles on March 2, expanding its presence in the region.
