Iran has appealed to the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), demanding an immediate and decisive halt to the wave of "barbaric" US and Israeli attacks on schools.

In a letter to Edward Chaiban, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Iranian Justice Minister Amin Hossein Rahimi stated that since the start of the aerial aggression on February 28, at least 50 schools have been direct targets of US and Israeli strikes.

According to Rahimi, hundreds of children have been killed in the attacks, with many more wounded or left orphaned.

"These attacks are undoubtedly clear examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity," the minister stated.

He particularly highlighted the "brutal attack" on a school in Minab, in the southern province of Hormozgan, where 168 students were killed on the first day of the aggression.
