Strikes on Iraqi territory constitute a violation of the country's sovereignty and security, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said in a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Al-Sudani emphasized that attacks on Iraq are unacceptable and undermine Baghdad's efforts to stop the conflict and resume negotiations, according to a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office.

He confirmed that Iraq rejects the unjust war against Iran and remains committed to ensuring regional security and stability. The prime minister noted Iraq's readiness to facilitate an end to the conflict and a return to dialogue and diplomatic solutions instead of the use of force, which threatens stability in the region and the world.

He also expressed condolences on behalf of the Iraqi government and people over the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and members of his family. He expressed hope for the swift recovery of affected civilians.
