Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces Land Forces General Metin Tökel said the drone attack on Nakhchivan is a cause for sadness.

As Armiya.az reports, he made this statement during a meeting with the Azerbaijani President's plenipotentiary representative in Nakhijevan, Jeyhun Jalilов.

Tökel emphasized that mutual visits are important for further expanding military cooperation based on a strategic alliance, noting that the Azerbaijani army is consistently developing, which brings satisfaction to brotherly Turkey.

Jalilов noted that following the drone attack on Nakhchivan International Airport, flights on the Nakhchivan–Baku route were temporarily suspended. According to him, the organization of flights from Baku to the Turkish city of Iğdır on March 5–9 to ensure passenger transport between Nakhijevan and the mainland was a vivid demonstration of the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
