A spokesman for Iran's central military headquarters, "Khatam al-Anbiya", said oil prices could rise to $200 per barrel if the US and Israel continue striking Iran's energy infrastructure, Iranian TV channel Al Alam reports via its Telegram channel.

Earlier, IRGC spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari also warned of a possible sharp price spike, saying strikes on the country's energy facilities by the US had opened a new phase of the conflict.

Oil prices have fluctuated significantly in recent days: after peaking at around $119.5 per barrel, they fell to around $81, but on March 11 began rising again, exceeding $90 on the London ICE exchange amid reports of an attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz. The US Energy Department forecasts that prices could remain above $95 per barrel over the next two months.
