The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, approved the Multi-Sector Budget Support Agreement funding agreement with the European Commission.

The explanation of the respective decision states that in July 2025, the European Commission approved a multi-annual action plan for the EU financial assistance for Armenia under the Resilience and Growth Plan for the fiscal years 2025-2027 worth 143 million euros, consisting of two components: budget support and technical assistance, worth 90 million euros and 53 million euros, respectively.

The areas of this budget support are: public finance management and internal oversight, export diversification, visa liberalization dialogue and rule of law, as well as employment, skills and social inclusion.

It is now planned to sign the Multi-Sector Budget Support Agreement funding agreement, which consists of budget support components worth 90 million euros and technical assistance components worth 53 million euros.

The program envisages providing Armenia with 90 million euros in budget support and 53 million euros in technical assistance.

Within the framework of budget support, Armenia has committed to implementing 34 measures, including the introduction of a biometric identification system, universal health insurance, and the continued implementation of the housing program for Nagorno-Karabakh refugees.
