US President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that he does not consider it "advisable" for Iran's national football team to participate in the upcoming World Cup.
"Iran's national football team can participate in the World Cup, but I really don't think they should be there, for their own life and safety," Trump wrote.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in June and July across 16 cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
