The US State Department said Saturday it has ordered non-emergency government employees and their family members to leave Oman.

In its notice, the State Department cites "risk of armed conflict and terrorism."

Earlier, the US Embassy in Baghdad issued a warning urging citizens to "immediately depart" Iraq.

As a reminder, the US and Israel have been attacking Iranian territory since February 28, causing destruction and loss of life. In response, Iran has been launching missile strikes against Israel and US military bases in the region. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were also killed in the US-Israeli strikes.

On March 2, Hezbollah also joined the war against Israel. Israel announced the start of an offensive operation against the movement and entered southern Lebanon.
