Iranian authorities have arrested at least 20 people in the northwest of the country on suspicion of cooperating with Israel, Fars reports.

The arrests were made during raids on networks linked to Israel in West Azerbaijan province, provincial prosecutor Hossein Majidi said.

"Twenty people were detained and arrested after it was established that they were transmitting information about the locations of military, law enforcement, and security services to the Zionist enemy," the Iranian outlet reports.

The US and Israel have been attacking Iranian territory since February 28, causing destruction and loss of life. In response, Iran has been launching missile strikes against Israel and US military bases in the region. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Seyyed Khamenei and other senior officials were also killed in the US-Israeli strikes.

On March 2, Hezbollah also joined the war against Israel. Israel announced the start of an offensive operation against the movement and entered southern Lebanon.
