Pakistan carried out overnight strikes on Taliban facilities and "terrorist hideouts" in Afghanistan's Kandahar, the Pakistani information minister announced on X.

Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the attack, saying there were no casualties.

The clashes between the two countries came after Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan territory in February provoked retaliatory Afghan attacks along the border, escalating longstanding tensions over Pakistan's claim that Afghanistan is harboring Pakistani Taliban militants. Afghanistan denies this.
