President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to strike Iranian Kharg Island again following last week's attack, which destroyed key military facilities.

"I told them straight — I'll blow the hell out of it," he said in an interview with PBS News.

Last Friday, Trump announced on Truth Social that he had "destroyed all military installations" on the island, which hosts a small oil terminal in the Persian Gulf through which 90% of Iranian oil exports are shipped.

The U.S. military said on Saturday that several military and missile facilities were destroyed in the attack, but that oil infrastructure was left untouched. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran would respond if the country's oil or energy infrastructure were targeted.

In Monday's interview, Trump described the island as "disabled, except for the pipes, which I left." "I didn't want to touch the pipes because, you know, they took years to build," he added. "The military installations are now completely disabled. All the military zones…"

Trump noted that he "didn't go anywhere near" the oil infrastructure, leaving roughly 30 meters around it. "Because if you hit that, you know, it's going to take a long time to restore. It's a long construction process."

"I can destroy power plants in one hour. They'll be gone. But if I do that, everything has to be rebuilt, and that's a trauma. So I try to refrain from doing that," the president stressed.

Trump also assured that "oil prices will drop like a rock" once the war is over. When asked when exactly that would happen, Trump said: "Well, as soon as the war is over, and I think it won't be long."
