U.S. President Donald Trump made sharp remarks about his French counterpart after France refused to join an international group to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier today, Emmanuel Macron stated that France is not a party to the conflict and therefore "will never participate in operations to open or free the Strait of Hormuz in the current context."
When asked about Macron's comments, Trump replied: "Well, he'll be leaving office very soon. We'll see. I don't know."
France's next presidential election is scheduled for April 2027.
