Iravunk daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows: These days, many [former] Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] residents [in Armenia] are contacting the [Iravunk daily’s] editorial office and expressing concern that their applications for RA citizenship are being delayed for months.
"The application was given in December, but no one has called us yet to go [and get our Armenian citizenship passports]. They [i.e. the Armenian authorities] used to say, ‘Get [Armenian] citizenship,’ and now we are ‘chasing’ them so that we can get an Armenian passport.
What is this, if not humiliation? They are mocking [us]," indignantly said an Artsakh woman who settled in Gyumri. Dozens of Artsakh residents are calling with the same issue, noting that they cannot even get a certificate without an Armenian passport.
"They have raised the prices of rented houses by leaps and bounds, and we say, at least we get the certificate available to us, let us see what we can do, but they won't let [us do] that either," said a man from Artsakh. But is it hard to understand that they won't give [Armenian] citizenship to the Armenians of Artsakh, at least until the end of the [parliamentary] elections [in June]? They become [Armenian] citizens so that they can go and vote against [PM] Nikol [Pashinyan]?
