Iran did not expand the scale of the war, the war is expansionist in nature; this is the essence, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated in an interview with Al Jazeera television.

Iran had previously warned its friends and regional countries about this for a very simple reason: when the United States attacks Iran, the latter’s armed forces, missiles, and drones cannot reach US territory. Therefore, Iran is inevitably forced to retaliate against American military bases and attack US military facilities in the region. But they are scattered throughout the region and are located in the territories of our Iran’s friendly countries, the Iranian FM noted.

According to Araghchi, this is the nature of this war.

When the United States attacks Iran from a distance of 10 thousand miles, waiting for when it will strike here, it is quite natural that Iran must respond, the Iranian FM added. Also, he noted that, first of all, he is sincerely surprised that the world is silent about the attacks on residential areas, schools, and hospitals in Iran. Araghchi asked why no one is talking about it. But he added that he can say with certainty that Iran did not attack civilian objects in neighboring countries. He noted that, of course, there may be side effects in some places, but this was not part of Iran’s goals. However, when it comes to striking the American bases in the region, it is natural that Iran did not limit itself to official military bases. Wherever there was a concentration of Americans, where their facilities were located, those places became targets, the Iranian FM noted.
