Oil and natural gas prices jumped sharply after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian oil and gas facilities and Tehran's threat of retaliatory action, Bloomberg reports.
Brent crude rose 5% to $108.60 per barrel, while the European gas benchmark climbed 7.9%, according to trading data.
Iran's Tasnim agency reported on March 18 that Israel and the U.S. struck oil and gas facilities at Assaluyeh and South Pars in southern Iran.
