A meeting was held Wednesday in the Saudi capital Riyadh, attended by the foreign ministers and representatives of Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt, according to Al Hadath.

As per the respective report, the participants in the meeting called on Iran to reconsider its miscalculations, and stressed that continued violations of the principles of good neighborliness and state sovereignty will have a significant impact on the security of Iran and the region, as well as on itself, and will cast a shadow on its relations with the countries and peoples of the region, which will not remain inactive in the face of threats to their resources.

The participants stressed that Iran must immediately cease all attacks, refrain from any provocative actions or threats against neighboring countries, and cease supporting, financing, and arming its proxy militias in Arab countries. At the same time, the participants discussed Iran’s attacks on Jordan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, and reaffirmed their condemnation and rejection of these deliberate Iranian attacks using ballistic missiles and drones.

They also stressed that these attacks cannot be justified, emphasizing the right of states to self-defense. The participants called on Iran to immediately cease attacks and respect international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness as a first step towards de-escalating tensions, achieving security and stability in the region, and revitalizing diplomacy for crisis resolution.

They stressed the importance of Iran refraining from any action or threat that could close or obstruct international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz or threaten maritime security in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and called on Iran to immediately cease its attacks and respect international law and the principles of good neighborliness. In this context, the participants reaffirmed their support for the security, stability, and territorial integrity of Lebanon, the strengthening of Lebanon’s state sovereignty throughout its territory, and the decision of the Lebanese government to limit the state’s ownership of weapons.

They also condemned Israel’s aggression against Lebanon and its expansionist policies in the region. The participants reaffirmed their determination to continue intensive consultations and coordination, to monitor developments and assess new circumstances in order to formulate common positions and to take the necessary legitimate measures and actions to protect their security, stability and sovereignty, as well as to stop the Iranian attacks on their territory.
