YEREVAN. – Armenia’s 3,700 NGOs are the telling proof of the fact that the civil sector is actively developing in our country, National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan stated during the conference, entitled “Participatory Democracy: Role of Civil Society,” which was organized by the EU Advisory Group.   

According to Baghdasaryan, the more developed a civil society is in a country, the given country is that much more democratic, and democracy means predictability.

In addition, Armenia’s NSC Secretary noted that the Armenia-EU 2012-2013 Action Plan, which will soon be discussed at NSC session and be introduced for the President’s approval, also has a fairly large section on developing political cooperation with EU, and developing and strengthening Armenia’s civil society institutions.
