Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday received a delegation led by the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, the PM’s office informs.

The premier welcomed Kos’ current visit to Armenia, and noted that it is a good opportunity to discuss the rich agenda of Armenia-EU cooperation, which consistently continues to expand. Pashinyan emphasized that at today’s meeting he would also like to hear Kos’ impressions of bilateral processes and discuss all matters of mutual interest.

The PM reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian government to continue democratic reforms, strengthen the rule of law, and develop institutional capacities.

In turn, Marta Kos thanked for the reception, and noted that the EU lauds the reforms being implemented and the political will being shown by Armenia in this regard. She stressed that the EU will continue to support Armenia in bilateral cooperation; in particular, in the reform agenda, Armenian civil society, and the media.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the progress of the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda, the opportunities for expanding economic and investment programs, as well as the visa liberalization process. Regional developments and steps being taken towards peace were also touched upon. Marta Kos stressed the EU’s full support for the Armenian government’s efforts towards peace.

The parties emphasized the importance of continuous high-level dialogue and the consistency of joint efforts towards deepening cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
