On March 19, a meeting of the heads of Armenian diplomatic missions accredited in Arab countries opened in Muscat, led by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
Deputy Minister for Middle East Relations Coordination Vahan Kostanyan and diplomats from the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also took part in the meeting.
Discussions covered the situation in the Middle East and the main trends in regional development. Armenian ambassadors presented the realities and specifics of their host countries, and an exchange of views took place on possible ways to resolve the situation.
Minister Mirzoyan addressed the ongoing work on implementing Armenia's foreign policy priorities in the region, as well as Armenia's approaches to further developing partnership relations.
The discussion then turned to matters of concern for Armenian citizens residing in the region since the escalation of the Middle East situation, including efforts to facilitate their return to Armenia.
