On March 19, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan received a delegation led by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

The Interior Minister highlighted the progress in Armenian-European relations, noting that this was the EU Commissioner's second visit to Armenia this month, reflecting active and productive cooperation.

On the EU visa liberalization process, Minister Sargsyan noted that Armenia will receive a final progress assessment report in May, expressing confidence that satisfactory results will be achieved on both sides.

As the lead negotiator on the Armenian side, Minister Sargsyan presented concrete results achieved since the start of the dialogue and reaffirmed Armenia's full commitment to the thorough implementation of the Action Plan.

The Minister particularly emphasized ongoing work on integrated migration and border management, as well as document security. The importance of Armenia appointing a liaison officer to Europol in the context of law enforcement cooperation was also underlined.

Marta Kos highly praised the work of the Interior Ministry and Minister Sargsyan personally in the EU-Armenia visa liberalization process. She noted that Armenia is a reliable partner of the European Union, stressing that it is currently the only country with which the EU is conducting an active dialogue in this area.

Also mentioned was a survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI), according to which public trust in the Interior Ministry's police has increased significantly.

The meeting also addressed issues related to security, countering hybrid threats, and combating cyberattacks.
