We have received the defense counsel's motion to lift the preventive measure against Karekin II Nersisyan, which will be examined within the time limit established by law, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Thursday was officially invited to attend the funeral of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, which will take place on Sunday.

Earlier, it was reported that the Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings against the Catholicos of All Armenians on charges of obstructing the execution of a court decision related to Arman Saroyan—the defrocked Bishop Gevorg Saroyan, the former Primate of the Diocese of Masis of the Armenian Apostolic Church—and Karekin II was banned from leaving Armenia.
