A delegation comprising the directors of the Eastern European departments of the foreign ministries of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) cooperation countries—Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden—has arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
They met with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan; Elchin Amirbayov, the President’s Special Representative for Special Assignments; Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev; Mammad Talibov, head of the European department at the Azerbaijani foreign ministry; as well as members of Azerbaijani civil society and think tanks, Azerbaijani media report.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the peace process and normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, regional security issues, and the development of bilateral relations.
