STEPANAKERT. – The philosophy of approaching Nagorno-Karabakh peace process needs reconsideration, head of the Public Council on Karabakh foreign policy and security Masis Mayilyan said during the international conference held in Stepanakert.

Summing up last year’s results on Karabakh peace process, Mayilyan stressed the crisis in the mediating organization OSCE Minsk Group.

"Obviously, the mediators has to consider new precedents and new realities to register progress in the Karabakh peace process," he stressed.

It is necessary to be ready for any development of the events as Azerbaijan has not yet recognized Karabakh people’s right to self-determination. Thus, maintenance of peace in the region is number one issue. Meantime, works should be done on Karabakh’s recognition.
