The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK re-elected Kim Jong Un as Chairman of the State Council (Commission on State Affairs) at its first session, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) in Pyongyang reports.

The report emphasizes that the re-election of "the most outstanding thinker-theoretician in the world, the great strategist in state building and the giant of creation and change" took place in an atmosphere of "extraordinary political consciousness and revolutionary enthusiasm" and was of enormous political significance in firmly guaranteeing "the eternal victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche."

KCNA notes that the decision to nominate Kim Jong Un to the highest state post expresses "the unanimous will and aspiration of the entire Korean people."
