LaGuardia Airport in New York has been closed following a collision between an aircraft and a fire truck on the runway, the Flightradar24 press service announced on X.

"New York's LaGuardia Airport is currently closed after an arriving Air Canada Express CRJ-900 aircraft collided with a ground vehicle," the statement reads.

According to the service, after passengers were evacuated from the plane, the nose of the aircraft was elevated.

News of the collision between a plane and a fire truck at LaGuardia Airport emerged on the morning of March 21. As reported by Life, citing SHOT, the aircraft involved was an Air Canada Express CRJ-900. Two people were killed, and dozens were injured as a result of the collision.

Emergency services are currently working at the scene. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the collision.
