Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan took another jab at Russia while expressing readiness to draw on Russian experience in combating hybrid threats.

Speaking to journalists on March 23, the Minister, responding to a question about hybrid threats and the EU delegation's visit, first deemed it necessary to explain what hybrid attacks actually are. According to him, they are primarily disinformation.

"You name a country (Russia). Could some of the threads lead to that country? Yes, they could," Mirzoyan stated. He identified deputies opposing Armenia's sovereignty, various officials, and experts as the direct perpetrators of hybrid attacks.

Mirzoyan noted that hybrid attacks are a fairly unfamiliar phenomenon for Armenia, but that others, including the EU, have experience in dealing with them, and that this experience should be utilized. "There are circles that feel sick at the word 'EU.' As soon as they hear it, their knees start shaking. I am sure that if a delegation from Madagascar had arrived, everything would have been fine," the Minister suggested. He reminded that Armenia itself had requested assistance from the EU. "If Russia has its own experience and is ready to share it, we have no objection," Mirzoyan concluded.
