Claiming that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is cloudless is a great exaggeration. This was stated on March 23 by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a session of the standing parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, during the presentation of the report on the progress and results of the implementation of the Government of the Republic of Armenia's program (2021–2026) for 2025.
"This conflict lasted for decades. So much blood was shed. These wounds are still fresh," Mirzoyan acknowledged. According to him, there are still individuals being held by the Azerbaijani side. Numerous humanitarian issues also remain unresolved, including determining the fate of the missing.
However, in the Foreign Minister's assessment, in the statements of representatives of both societies, as well as the authorities of the two countries, a gradual reduction in the level of aggression and hostility can be noticed. But, as he admitted, this path continues to be quite difficult, yet it must be pursued — and persistently so.
Mirzoyan expressed hope that one day a final reconciliation between the two societies will take place, including on a psychological level.
