Iran, in striking targets in Middle Eastern countries, is exercising its legitimate right to self-defense, as the territory of these countries is being used by the US and Israel to carry out attacks on the Islamic Republic. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

"Iran's actions in striking military bases and facilities of the aggressors in regional countries are in accordance with its inherent right to self-defense. We regret that the territory of Muslim countries in the region is being used by the United States and the Zionist regime to attack Iran," the press service of the Iranian foreign ministry quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.

Araghchi once again assured that the Iranian people remain "determined to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their country."
