US President Donald Trump, with his statements about delaying strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure and alleged negotiations with Tehran, is merely seeking to buy time for US armed forces and drive down energy prices. This was stated by Iran's Foreign Ministry.

"The statements of the US president are part of efforts to reduce energy prices and buy time for the implementation of military plans," the Mehr news agency quoted part of the statement as saying.
