US President Donald Trump made clear that he will still pursue $200 billion in funding for the Pentagon, despite having signaled his intention to wind down the war with Iran.

"Nice to have — always nice to have, the world is very heated," Trump said.

As CNN reports, in the coming weeks, Trump may ask Congress to allocate up to $200 billion to fund the war.

But passing such a bill will be extremely difficult. According to several people involved in preliminary discussions, Republican Party leaders do not believe they have enough votes to fund the war even within their own party without much more detailed plans from the White House.
